A Chess Coaching Camp cum The 1st Tuensang District Chess Championship inclusive of Shamator district and Noklak district organized by the Youth Resources and Sports department in collaboration with the Nagaland Chess Association concluded on June 25th 2022.
Miss. Trongtsali Sangtam emerged as the champion while Haulim S Chang secured the first runner up, Beso Chang finished as the second runner up and Lomchu Chingmak was placed fourth.
The Nagaland Chess Association also set-up its new units: Tuensang District Chess Association, Shamator district Chess Association and Noklak District Chess Association and distributed 10 chess sets to all its units under the leadership of Nagaland Chess Association President Neiba Kronu, Minister of Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs.

The 1st Rapid Nagaland State Chess Championship 2021 concluded on October 23 and the prizes were distributed by Helie Rupreo, Former President NCA and retired Director, Agriculture Department, Nagaland.
Up to top ten position holders in the open category were given cash prizes along with certificates.
In the Open Category, Melesai Dawhuo emerged as the Champion.
Salhuto Nyekha and Khrielie Sano were declared second and third winners respectively.

The All India Chess Federation has declared the result of AICF Chess in schools Trainers Training Program conducted in the month of March 2021.

Nagaland Chess Association Office and Website Inaugurated

Former President and Retd. Director, Agriculture Department, Govt. of Nagaland, Shri. Hielie Rupreo inaugurated Nagaland Chess Association Office and Website on 3rd of July 2021 at Kohima.
Rupreo expressed his optimism that NCA would be able to reach greater heights as well as function more efficiently with the establishment of its office and website. Rupreo also thanked all the pioneers of NCA, well-wishers and the present NCA officials led by Neiba Kronu -Minister for planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs- as its President for relentlessly working to promote Chess in Nagaland.
The inauguration function was chaired by Vekukho Soho, Joint Secretary NCA. Nipeto Hesso and Topeni Hesso presented a special song and Inaugural prayer was said by Hokhepu Achumi, Asstt. Pastor, Sumi Baptist Church Kohima.
A Warm-Up Tournament with 20 minutes time control was played after the Inaugural Function. Mughaho Awomi emerged as the winner, followed by Hielie Rupreo and Sukhavi Achumi.
AICF Chess Trainers Program
The All India Chess Federation conducted Chess Trainers Program from 17th to 20th of March 2021. The program was aimed at providing necessary skills to Trainers and to enable them to teach Chess in Schools in order to promote Chess at the grassroot level.

18th Nagaland Chess Championship 2021

The Nagaland Chess Association (NCA) organized the 18th Nagaland State Chess Championship 2021 with an enhanced Total Prize money of Rs.20,6000 at The Heritage, Kohima, from 29th March 2021 to 1st April 2021.
Neiba Kronu, Minister of Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue, & Parliamentary Affairs and also President of NCA inaugurated the Tournament as well as graced the Valedictory function as the Presidential Guest.
The champion in open category was awarded with Rs. 50,000 while second, third and fourth place winners received Rs. 30,000, Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively. Rank 5 to 10 holders received Rs. 5000 each.
The winners in the Under 18 and Under 14 categories were awarded with Rs. 10,000 (1st), Rs. 7,000 (2nd), Rs. 5000 (3rd), Rs 3000 (4th rank) and Rs. 2000 (5th Rank) each.
